Weight Systems

NEW! TransWeight 32 System for the TransPac or TransPlate has gone through extensive testing in open water with new students and seasoned veterans alike. We designed our new system to address, what we feel, are weak points in conventional systems on the market today. These include: angled the holsters slightly forward, configured as a “top loading” system, incorporated double Velcro™ locking systems, and lowered the center of gravity of the weight.

Angling the holsters forward allow the pockets to be easily loaded by the diver. By simply holding the bottom of the pocket you guide it into the holster and let it slide into place. Then simply pat down the Velcro™ closures to hold it securely in the holster.

By having the pockets load from the top rather than the front or bottom, our system is both easy to dump or hand off yet stays securely in place while diving without the need of extra buckles (which means an extra step to remove the weight).

The standards of some training agencies have been rewritten to encompass integrated weight systems. These standards all have one thing in common; students must be able to ditch the weight during training dives. If the system is designed to be removed and replaced like a weight belt then they must do so. If the system is “bail out” only (not easily replaceable) then the diver must learn how to ditch the weight in shallow water so the weight can be retrieved and replaced.

Another area of focus for weight systems is entry to and from small boats. It can be very difficult to climb into a small boat such as an inflatable after your dive. To do so the diver must first remove his weight to establish positive buoyancy, hand the weight into the boat, and then remove the cylinder and BC system to gain entry into the boat.

We designed the new TransWeight System to allow the diver to enjoy many of the different aspects of diving by addressing the various concerns listed above.

NEW! TransWeight 16 System does all it’s big brother does but since it is designed to hold less lead it takes up only the space of the side plate on the Transpac or TransPlate leaving plenty of room for “D” rings and other accessories including pockets

NEW! Weight Carry Bag is the ultimate solution to a heavy problem.

Now there’s a great way to carry that needed (or unneeded) weight to and from the pool, boat or quarry. This incredibly strong bag can carry up to 50 pounds of weight. Made of reinforced vinyl-coated nylon mesh for quick draining and easy rinsing this new Weight Carry Bag will soon be accompanying you to every checkout dive and boat trip you make. (Bag dimensions 11” H x 8.5” W x 4.5”)

Belt Trim Weight is expanding the line of flexible weighting options, the four-pound weight fits all two-inch webbing, plus most BC cummerbunds. This enables divers to mount the Belt Weight on weight belts, cummerbunds, BC harnesses, tank cam straps and many more places. A Velcro closure on the weight's mounting loop means that divers can install it without having to unthread their cummerbund, tank cam strap or other two-inch webbing. Instructors will find the Belt Weight handy when students need additional weight that can be installed on the spot.

Model Number BC2152 $27.78

Clipper Pocket can be used as a weight pocket, (up to five pounds) a slate pocket, or a small utility pocket. It is designed to mount in a variety of positions to meet divers' individual needs. This pocket utilizes durable clips that may be attached to the Transpac II waist strap, cylinder cam strap, or any other 2.0-inch/50mm webbing waist belt. The pocket features a secure hook-and-loop closure with a D-ring pull-tab for easy opening.

Model Number BC2714 $27.30

Trim Weights are mesh tubes that hold either four or three pounds of lead shot. At the end of each tube is a large grommet, designed to accommodate stainless quick links or up to 5/16-inch diameter bolts.

These trim weights have nearly limitless mounting options. You can, for example, put small trim weights on each side of a Transpac harness, using quick links to connect to either the upper or lower two D-rings located there. The four-pound trim weights also have slots for two-inch webbing.
